sideBAR of the week February 12-18

Keegans Pub
10618 S Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60643

A nice sized bar on the southside of Chicago. I stumbled upon this place on a random taste for a Long Island after attending a "Turquoise Jeep" concert. The attractiveness of this establishment was the music that could be played outside along with the make up of the crowd.
You can hear several Hip-Hop songs playing just by walking by. Mostly everyone that was inside were in their 20s and presumably in college or fresh out of college. Comfortable atmosphere, fellow Hip-Hop heads, and fellow connoseiurs of the alcohol equal a highly recommended bar!

Catch of the night: two shots of Jameson for $8

Inaugural review: Skybox

To open up my review blog, my first place of interest will be Skybox. Located in Harvey Illinois, Skybox welcomes its patrons with a brightly lit and warming appearance. (Purple lights usually mean a fun time is approaching!). Parking is easily attainable and available with a spacious lot located directly behind the establishment. Upon entering We (myself and P.R) were greeted by the cashier, "$10 cover fellas." and a turnstile which is a new feature i have NEVER seen at a place of business of this nature.
Usually you can make an educated guess at how the ambiance is by the attitude and frisking of the bouncers. This particular night the pat down wasn't too harsh or warranting of a "Don't mess around" type of feel.
Skybox is extremely spacious. Right by the entrance is one large dance stage that can be seen from the entrance. Which is a plus if your patronage is dependent on the skills and looks of the dancers.
The ethnic makeup of the dancers are diverse. There really is not one dominant race represented. So f diversity is your thing this is the place to be. Also all the performers were in shape. No chubby chasers insight. the actual dancing was mediocre though. One reason could be the wack song selection by the D.J. Horrible music usually equals horrible dancing. There is a nicely decorated private area near the main stage for private dancers.
The bar was actually the best part. No watered down beer of cocktails. Decently priced drinks are always a plus. If you plan on spending a ton of money or unknowingly end up spending a ton of money. They also had a free buffet (A FIRST FOR ME!)multiple t.v screens adorned the surrounding wall so you wont miss a game.

Drinks: 7.5/10
Atmosphere: 7/10
D.J: 2/10
Dancers: 7/10
Security: 10/10

WOULD I VISIT THIS PLACE AGAIN: only if I'm bored and in the area.

WELCOME

Its really the only topic that makes sense for me to blog about. The number of legitimate and exciting clubs of these sorts is minimal at best. The number of unbiased, unfinancially influenced and unemotionally attached review sites/blogs is zero to none. I know it could be a financial strain to attend frequently , but at least I'd enjoy myself. Along with the assistance of two of my closest friends (whom will be called "W.A" and "P.R") i know that we can provide the best overrall reflections on our experiences.

The review blog will include: likes/dislikes, commentary on overall visit, thoughts on the bar, security/dancer/DJ ratings, atmosphere descriptions, a unique way of voting yay or nay to visit, etc.

Welcome to the blog that will assist you in making that life changing question: "where will I be a patron for tonight?"
